Physically, Irves is either unaware or completely unbothered by her diminuitive stature. She has fire enough for any size! Her hair is always worn long, and is ebon black with dark blue streaks in it, same as her father (her eyes however, are dark blue and dusky like her mother). She also inherited his pale skin, and like all Xaela possesses dark scales and horns instead of human ears. She and her sister, however, also have a second, larger pair of horns, light brown in color and a vestige of a magical accident. Like other Au Ra, Irves' tail is long and spiked. Her claws are black as well, somewhat darker than her scales.
Abilities:
Irves is a power seeking Au Ra hailing from the prosperous city-state of Ul'dah. Born in the village of Clan Dalamiq, she and her sister traveled to Eorzea to develop their burgeoning magical talents. Irves herself followed the path of thaumaturgy, and is now an accomplished black mage of considerable talent. She has dabbled in other magical circles but finds them nowhere near as titillating as the black arts. They lack the Flare. Irves is constantly seeking to improve her abilites, either through raising her own power or researching into how magic works so she can do things no one else can do or even knew was possible.
While not a "skill" as such, Irves has a remarkable affinity with creatures. From chocobos to wyverns to direwolves to primal ponies wrested from the wills of Primals, she has tamed them all. She treats them well, better than she treats many people in fact. She loves her chocobos (especially the carefully trained and bred racers!) like family. The horses each get personally groomed, not to mention the time spent on the scaled darlings of the stable.
The only other marketable skill she has is with a needle. Irves has a very particular (and sometimes peculiar) sense of style, and thus often makes her own clothes. That being said, men's fashion irritates her since there is so little variety, so she hates traditional menswear with a burning fire. Do NOT ask her to make you a "plain shirt".
Personality:
Irves is a mage first, all other things second. Above all else she pursues power and knowledge; this search has brought her far and wide and put her into contact with many, many different peoples. Irves will go to great lengths for it. She has been known to spend all night translating an arcane text and forgetting to eat until the entire piece is finished. As a student, she is humble before her teachers. But to everyone else... she is strong and she knows it.
But what use is power if you cannot be lovely using it? She tries to maintain an air of poise and elegant contempt in public, even though it completely dissipates around her family. On top of this, she is a hopeless romantic, dreaming always of lace and roses and moonlit evenings in candlelit marble rooms with heavy velvet drapes... you get the idea.
As a part of the Dalamiq clan, Irves was brought up to consider the now fallen moon Dalamud as a religious icon. Once it became known that Dalamud housed the captive Primal Bahamut her religious beliefs shifted from the moon to the dragon himself. Since he disappeared not long after his release, she has spent her life searching for the object of her devotions. That zeal also includes Midardsormr and his original seven children, of which Bahamut is one. So to her, those dragons are practically deities, with their spawn seen as demi-gods.
